My Guiding Principles
Learning lives everywhere — at recreation centres, parks, public libraries, museums, office buildings, colleges, community gardens, theatres, churches, homes, and in backyards. But, today’s education system assumes meaningful learning only happens at a place called “school.”
Liberate learning — from the four walls of a traditional classroom and the four sides of a laptop screen by getting young people to learn from real, trusted and inspiring humans in their city.
Leverage existing city assets — partner with existing learning service providers and transportation networks in the city to help bring accessibility and safety for our most underserved communities in Cape Town to immersive learning and state-of-the-art learning facilities.

I'd love to work with
organizations who can help bring
a vibrant learning ecosystem across the city of Cape Town to life
Spaces of Learning
Museums, exhibitions and other cultural & scientific institutions that see themselves as places of learning
Education Foundations
NGOs and other organisations with a clear purpose and willing to design learning experiences with an impact
Spaces of Play
Playgrounds, social & fun experiences that cater to families with young children and teenagers
A Refreshing Approach
To create an effective learning experience, we begin by clearly formulating a question or problem we want to address. I research both the target audience and the desired learning outcomes, using methods such as interviews or observations. Now enter the design phase, where brainstorming is key, and I transform these ideas into a concept suitable for the medium. We then, develop this concept into a prototype, which can range from simple to high-tech. Lastly, we test this prototype to ensure it meets learning objectives and appeals to the learner. Adjust based on feedback, potentially revisiting earlier steps. This iterative process continues until both the designer and learning institute are satisfied with the results.
